Salvatore Raieli

Born in Palermo, Salvatore Raieli attended a Biotechnology degree at a university in Paris for his PhD. Obtaining his PhD in Immunology at the Institute Curie focusing his studies on the innate immunity response. Salvatore moved to Bologna to work as bioinformatician in Biogenera.

His contribution to the project is focusing in implementing deep learning approaches to discriminate cancer cell from health. He is aiming to use deep learning in retrieve biology findings to help research against cancer.

Moreover, he is interested in writing tutorials that would allow a broader community to approach deep learning in biology.

Salvatore Raieli joined the Peter Moss Acute Myeloid & Lymphoblastic Leukemia AI Research Project in 2019 and continued as a volunteer for Asociación de Investigacion en Inteligencia Artificial Para la Leucemia Peter Moss.

Since then Salvatore has contributed towards the project Github repositories providing code for using Fast AI to classify Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and COVID, and authors articles related to using Artificial Intelligence in the fight against Leukemia & COVID.
